An elegiac mixtape featuring ambient, free jazz, and spoken word recordings of the late Rep. John Lewis…
For the thirteenth Phreak Power Podcast, Shantih arranged this transcendent 19-track Mixtape in tribute of civil rights legend Rep. John Lewis, his life’s work, and the countless souls carrying on his crusade for justice today. It is the second among a series of mixtapes dubbed, “The Elegy Tapes,” which Shantih aims will both console and inspire.
“Good Trouble” contains a spiritual collection of ambient and free jazz by the likes of Alice Coltrane, David Bowie, Dave Harrington, Flying Lotus, Laraaji, Lonnie Liston Smith, Nicolas Jaar, Nick Drake, Pharoah Sanders, Terry Riley, and more… Throughout the mixtape, Shantih incorporates spoken word recordings of Rep.
